Sneak peak

Since Jeff has been in New Jersey, I have really been in the artsy mood. I thought of a super cool piece of art that I could make for Jeff. This tuna is only a small part of it, but I couldn't resist showing it off. I am so excited for Jeff to see the whole thing.
Stay tuned.

Cruisin

We have been living in our house for over a year, and I still get a tickle out of seeing the cruise ship go by. (Yes, believe it or not I am standing on my porch in this picture.)
You can't help but think about the good time those people are about to have.

Welcome to the neighborhood

I would like to introduce y'all to my newest neighbor. His name is Cody, which is an easy name for me to remember since he is black and white like the Dalmatian my sister had. Is so freaking adorable and rambunctious. It took me forever to get a decent picture.
AWWW, I could eat him up.

I am so lucky.

Today was an early day for me. Jeff is out of town, so when he called this morning he got my day going extra early (not that I am complaining).
So, Curtis and I loaded up in the Jeep and headed to the Island. I brought my camera knowing that the juices were flowing and it was going to be a beautiful morning. It was such a beautiful morning! It really made me feel jealous for everyone who doesn't wake up to that.
It also made me feel grateful for were I am and who I am with.
I love you, Jeff.

I wish my dog could drink out of a straw!

Curtis is the messiest drinker I have ever seen! Whenever he drinks, it comes flying out of the side of his mouth. I am amazed he is not dehydrated.

Seriously, If I could teach him how to drink out of a straw I would. My poor floors are going to end up buckling because of his drinking problem.

Man, I'm good!

This past week I went up to Huntsville to visit with my family. While I was up there my mom asked if I would take down the dreaded wallpaper in her dining room.
Let me tell you, this was no ordinary wallpaper. The homeowners who put it up must have spent a pretty penny on it. It was fancy wallpaper!

I started my project Sunday afternoon around 4:00. Believe me by the end of the first night I only had two walls done and I was asking myself what I had gotten in to.
The next morning I pushed ahead and finished taking all the wallpaper down. Now my next task was repairing the drywall that was not primed before they put the wallpaper up.

After getting the walls as smooth as I could I primed the walls. Some of the spots I maybe could have gotten smoother, but I was so worried that I was not going to have enough time. I was stressed about leaving my mom's house a wreck. Not only was the dinning room torn up, but her kitchen was covered with all the china, glasses and all the other misc. stuff we had pulled out of her cabinets and buffet. Having all that stuff strewed out only added to my stress.

On the third day I managed to smooth the walls and put the first coat of paint on. WHEWW!!!

The fourth and final morning I put on the second coat. My mother came home at lunch and the house was still a disaster. As soon as she went back to work I hustled and cleaned up the ENTIRE house. I put all the stuff in the kitchen up and even cleaned rooms that I didn't even touch. She was AMAZED when she got home. On her way home she stopped and picked out some carpet that will be installed in a few day's.

Needless to say, when I left on Thursday morning I was so relieved that I had finished it. I am exhausted!!!

My weekend getaway!!!

This past weekend I got to ride with Jeff to Florida to drop off the Junk Yard Dog.

We started off Friday in Orange Beach, AL.

The ride was great both days. You couldn't have asked for prettier weather.

The first night we stayed in Carrabelle, FL. We had a good time there. The dock hand picked us up after we cleaned the boat and took us to a local restaurant. The next morning was not the best for me.

Saturday we arrived in Anna Maria, FL. The water was so gorgeous!!!

When we were pulling the boat in to the marina, we were greeted by some curious dolphins.

On the dock tied up.

These were my crazy traveling companions. Jeff's buddy Matt, his deckhand Adam, and of course Jeff.

On the way off the Island, we stopped to take a few snapshots.
We all had a good time and Jeff did a great job as usual getting us there safe and sound.

Yes, it does get that cold down here!

Some of you may remember an earlier post I did last summer on my "Africanized Ants". Well, the beautiful plant they infested has suffered from the cold weather. They have been outside all winter and have been fine. Yes, they might not have looked there best, but they were fine. That is until the other night. We had a really cold night the other night, and my plants payed the toll. Luckily after trimming away the frost bitten leaves, I found some life.
Keep your fingers crossed!!!

Please have a seat!

This our new beautiful couch! It's very special to us because it was Jeff's brothers. He had this couch made and was so proud of it. I remember when he first ordered it, he carried the picture from the catalog in his wallet and would show it to everyone he saw. Sadly he only had it for a few weeks before his untimely passing. We picked it up this weekend and now we know why he was so proud of it, It is the most beautiful couch

P.S. - Notice where Curtis is sitting. He is not allowed on the couch.

So beautiful

I took this picture the other day on my cell phone while leaving the Island. It was the prettiest sunset.
