My first pig

I know what your probably thinking, "Again!". That's what my mother thought when I told her that Jeff and I went hunting in the Delta again. We went yesterday in hopes of me killing my first pig. When we were on our way I realized I had forgot my good camera. That's when Jeff said, "You are defiantly going to kill a pig today. It's the only day you didn't bring it." Well, he was right. The first creek we went down we came across a couple of pigs. Being that I was the only one who had never killed one it was my turn. Now let me remind you this is not an easy task. Your on a small aluminum boat with two men whose every move rocks the boat making it an even harder shot. Not to mention my boyfriend who gets so excited and worried that the wind is going to shift where they can smell us and says, "I have them in my scope, I can take the shot.". That added on to the nerves because I wanted to get a shot in. I looked through my scope and saw the white fur and shot, which was followed by another shot from Jeff's gun. Not feeling to confidant about my shot Jeff and Ed got out to look for it. They didn't find a blood trail or the pig. It was the pig's lucky day. So, we headed off to another creek in hopes of getting on them again. We had only been in the second creek 5 minutes when I heard pigs grunting and rooting. Again, I stood up on the front of the boat with my gun pointing at the moving grass. A long minute later I spotted brown fur in my cross hairs. Not wanting to miss this one, I took my time until I had a perfect shot right behind the shoulder. POW, I hit it!!! It took off only a few yards and was easy for us to recover. I know some of y'all are thinking that I am some crazy, mean hunter, but I can promise you I am not. We eat everything that we shot and nothing goes to waste. Jeff's mom even dehydrates the fat and makes jerky treats for the dogs. There is nothing mean about what we do. Now if you will excuse me, I have some BBQ to cook.
